A confidential, peer-to-peer counseling service led by trained students who listen, without judgment, without records, without cost.
Project:IGYB (I Got Your Back) is a youth-led civil society organization providing confidential peer counseling to middle- and high-school students. We believe the bravest conversations often happen between people who already understand. Our counselors are trained, supported, and ready to meet you where you are.
We are registered as a United Nations ECOSOC Youth Civil Society Organization and have represented young people at the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, but our heart remains in the hallways, classrooms, and neighborhoods where students need someone to listen.
Active across seven counties:
Every session is fully anonymous. We never record names, never share details, and never store identifying information.
You speak with another student, someone who has walked similar halls and faced similar pressures. No talking down, no clinical distance.
Our 80+ counselors complete active-listening, crisis-recognition, and ethics training before they ever take a session.
No fees, no insurance, no paperwork. Mental health support should never be a privilege.
Our "Break the Stigma" initiative has engaged 3,000+ students with workshops, social outreach, and educational drives that normalize asking for help.
We collaborate with NAMI, Active Minds, school counselors, and community health organizations to extend our impact beyond what students alone can offer.
